Dislikes: Being told I have limits to what I can achieve.

During lockdown I have… enjoyed spending time with my family, tended to my garden and learned how to live stream my own radio show on the internet!

Mrs Katie Shurkin

Head of Year 10 & English Teacher

Interests and Hobbies: I enjoy reading a lot, especially historical fiction. I also enjoy running (although I’m not very fast) and if I’m honest I quite like eating things with lots of calories!

Favourite Meal: Steak and Chips please.

Dislikes: I hate bananas and coconut. I really don’t like it when people aren’t kind to each other. Kindness doesn’t cost anything. I also dislike getting up in the morning – but who does?!

During lockdown I have… appreciated the little things in life. Cuddles with my children, painting and generally slowing down. I have also enjoyed being able to go running regularly. However, all that I said, I look forward to returning to school soon. I miss everyone.

Miss Rebecca Newstead

Head of Year 11 & PE Teacher

Interests and Hobbies: Running, travelling and anything Harry Potter.

Favourite Meal: Veggie Schnitzel.

Dislikes: Rudeness, sitting still and marking!

During lockdown I have… Spent far too much money, walked my dog to the point of exhaustion and binged my way through the whole of Grey’s Anatomy.

Mr Alon Harshak

Wellbeing Practitioner

Interests and Hobbies: I love cycling, playing football and going for long walks. I used to enjoy running as well (before I hurt my knee). I love to cook and one of my favourite things is inviting some friends over for a feast!

Favourite Meal: That’s a tough question but I’m going to have to go with a delicious simple dal.

Dislikes: Cold dark rainy days in November and Arsenal.

During lockdown I have… spent too long on screens! As well as being bored often, I’ve loved going on long bike rides, making zines, cooking lots of new recipes and experimenting with growing different plants, vegetables and herbs – in the garden and finding the best spots around my house!
