The school really values the support it receives from its parent body and strongly believes that by working closely together, we will maximise the benefit for all of the children.

Parents/Carers of Able, Gifted and Talented pupils at Yavneh College are:

  • Given the opportunity to identify any particular interests, passions, hobbies or skills that their children may have – during induction interviews with the Headteacher/Deputy Headteachers.
  • Given the opportunity to discuss their views at the end of every academic year in a parental questionnaire.
  • Informed of the criteria used to identify Able, Gifted and Talented pupils on the school website.
  • Informed of national organisations and relevant websites which support Able, Gifted and Talented Pupils on the school website.
  • Informed of special events for Able, Gifted and Talented pupils in school newsletters and/or on the school website.
  • Invited to give feedback on their child’s progress from reports provided every term.
  • Informed of departmental provisions for Able, Gifted and Talented pupils on the school website including suggested wider reading and potential weekend/holiday activities.
  • Informed if their child has been identified as Gifted and Talented at the start of year 8, year 10 and year 12.
  • Informed if their child is identified as ABLE at the start of year 7 and at the start of year 12.
