YEAR 12 ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS 2019

Following a recent consultation, Yavneh College has made some changes to its admission arrangements for entry into Year 7 in September 2019. The amended admission arrangements can be found at the bottom of this page.

 External Applicants Forms required

 SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION FORM (SIF)

The admissions process for entry to Year 12 in September 2019 requires all applicants seeking a faith based priority, including siblings, to complete a Yavneh College Certificate of Religious Practice (CRP) and a SIF. The SIF can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.  This must be completed, signed and returned, together with the Certificate of Religious Practice (CRP), to Mrs F Graham, Admissions Officer, Yavneh College, Hillside Avenue, Borehamwood, Herts WD6 1HL by 31 January 2019.

CERTIFICATE OF RELIGIOUS PRACTICE (CRP)

In view of the Supreme Court ruling in respect of Jewish schools, Yavneh College is no longer able to give priority according to Jewish status.  Instead, the School will give priority to those who meet a religious practice test based on guidelines from the Chief Rabbi.

Those applicants wishing to be considered as priority applicants for available places need to obtain a certificate establishing religious practice, based on the child’s synagogue attendance, Jewish education and/or family communal activity.

Only synagogue attendance from 3 May 2018 until 26 January 2019 will be relevant.  Applicants are strongly advised to contact a synagogue as soon as possible to establish what they need to do to be able to demonstrate attendance and get the CRP signed.

If sections 2 and 3 of the CRP need to be completed, applicants must make the necessary arrangements to ensure verification of the CRP, by the individuals concerned.

It should be noted that the CRP does not confirm that the child is Jewish in accordance with Jewish law.

Yavneh College’s broad range of subjects and extra curricular activities helps create the perfect environment for students to flourish. The teachers are approachable, caring and fun to be around. This helps everyone feel part of the Yavneh family.
