Yavneh College

Yavneh College was established in 2006 to serve the growing Jewish community of Hertsmere and surrounding areas.

As a modern orthodox school, our aim is to produce young people who are proud of their Jewish heritage, confident in their religious practice and equipped with the academic qualifications and wider key skills necessary for success in today’s employment market.

We are a voluntary aided Hertfordshire Local Authority comprehensive for boys and girls aged 11-18yrs. Situated on a 13-acre site in Borehamwood, our new £30m school campus offers state-of-the-art facilities.

The school opened in 2006, so we now have pupils in Years 7 and 8. In September 2008 we open our Sixth Form and the school will then comprise Years 7, 8, 9 and 12. When all year groups have been admitted, the school will have a roll of 1,000.

Although we are a new school, the appointment of a very experienced and successful senior leadership team and teaching staff has meant that the school has enjoyed a reputation for excellence in teaching, learning, pastoral care and behaviour from its inception. The school was three times oversubscribed for Year 7 places in 2006 and 2007 and is now heavily oversubscribed for 2008.
